Tia's Tips: The holidays are upon us! Don't stress-enjoy! Do what you CAN do, what you really WANT to do! Breath, allow yourself time to enjoy the process and journey. I won't have Christmas cards to everyone I would like to send a card to and that IS-Okay. I'm fine with that, and I will have more opportunities to send other cards to people and when they get a card from me-that is my gift of love. But I will not take away my joy and happiness for papercraft to meet any date on a calendar. Join me & do what you enjoy.

The Project:
I am a fan of Christmas! And I love the snow! I was so very excited to see the newest release from Joy Clair Designs! And quickly fell in love with the wreath from the "This Christmas" set.
Now, I'm newish to blogging so my previous Christmas cards aren't here, but I can tell you I have a passion for 6x6 in. holiday cards. I don't know why and they are more expensive to mail, but somehow each year I find myself drawn to a large square card. Weird-I know! And here I did it again!
Some of my favorite holiday themes are kraft paper and plaid! Love that cozy, warm cabin feel. So I pulled kraft cardstock and my plaid paper pack out of my stash.
I printed the wreath onto Kraft paper, used a die-cut edge for flare and adhered it to this gorgeous yellow/gold foil, black & red plaid design paper called "Christmas Plaid" from DCWV. It's an oldie-but a goodie (and I bought 4pks!-told you I love holiday plaid!)
Next, I really wanted to achieve detail with the leaves and berries and sometimes it's hard to get details on small images with COPICS. So for this project I went with my Prismacolor Pencils.
Recently I received the Mini-Minc by Heidi Swapp (it's a hot laminate machine for foiling). And have plans to glitz up my Christmas cards. A shiny gold sentiment for the wreath was the perfect opportunity to break it in! I used a banner-die from Spellbinders and the sentiment from the set says "To you and yours this Christmas". The banner was adhered with foam tape.
