Sweet!

Tia's Tips: I had such a great time last Paper Shelter card challenge with the Retro Chic-Collection, that I went back to it for another image. The tip here-buying collections is a GREAT way to save $$$ and a fun way to work within a theme.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #599 - Chocolate

Digital Image: The Retro Chic Collection: Sweet

 You Can Join Our Challenge:

Here's how to join the fun! Up for grabs at The Paper Shelter  is a fantastic prize! Our winner will win 6 products of their choice from The Paper Shelter store- if they've used a Paper Shelter product on their entry (such as the pre-colored image, the black and white digi, or the digital paper that comes in the set). Or win 3 digis of their choice, if they've used images from another brand. This is a win-win! Plus, you can enter the challenge up to 3 times, provided you've used a Paper Shelter product on at least one of them. Good Luck!!!

My Card Details:

If you haven't seen The Retro Chic Collection here it is! And it is adorable!

I have been having such a great time coloring the images from this collection and "Sweet!" was no exception!

As Chocolate is our theme this week, the ice cream shake or malt is obviously chocolate, but I also incorporated chocolate layers in the card. With the cardstock, pattern paper, hair and clothes of my image-all inspired by shades of CHOCOLATE!

Normally I like the look of pink with brown, but this time I really like the bold offset of red. Kinda makes you think Chocolate covered cherries or Chocolate dipped strawberries-Oh YUM!!!

And I love The Paper Shelter images so much! It's always difficult for me to print them out small. Since I wanted to really enjoy this print, I ended up with a 6"x6" square card base. But the size really allowed me to add some nice large layers of design paper.

Here are my COPIC colors use:

Reds: R05; R24; R29; R56; R59

Browns: E11; E13; E21; E23; E25; E29; E35; E51

Blues: B000; B12; B21; B23; B24; B91; B95; B97

Grays: C0; C2; C4; C6

Black 100

I can't wait to see how you created with Chocolate! Did it make you think of sweets? Or lots of lovely layers of color?

My hubby and I did a Caribbean cruise many, many years ago, and they had a 50s style diner onboard. We spent FAR too much time in there!! Your card definitely brings back fond memories. Brilliant colouring!
